The Jungle called Middle School

  You are coming into sixth grade. You’ve probably heard heinous stories and didn’t help the feeling of unsteadiness of entering the new environment. My advice to you is keep up with your work and don’t be tardy to get it.
  Things are pretty relaxed here. Most of the teachers are nice, and you get a computer. The one thing that is tremendous at middle school is responsibility. Now that you’re getting older, you are going to have to be more logical about things. {Shocker, I know.} Do simple tasks. Keep up with your work. If you start slipping with your work, it’s going to be much harder on you. A lot of kids fell behind. It has hurt their grades, put a colossal amount of stress on them, and makes it difficult on the teachers to keep chasing you for you assignments.
  Tardiness can contribute to missing work. Teachers don’t want to have to repeat or teach what they just did. You have four minutes to get where you need to, that is plenty of time to get to your classes. A lot of classes go quickly and they aren’t going to be happy if you miss the lesson.{Coach Bohn doesn’t really care, but just get to your classes.}
  Do this and you’re golden! It will get better as time goes on. Good luck!

The Demons from the Deep

 As we know Zebra Mussels are a very monstrous problem, with very little resolutions. Zebra Mussels are costing use over $5,000 dollars an hour, $60 million a year, and is estimated $31 billion dollars in the next decade. We have tried many things, but I think I’ve found the solution. Zequanox. Zequanox is a Zebra Mussel terminator, and will get rid of the monsters we hate.
  Zebra Mussels are causing problems by locking up the water up to a liter a day to eat all the plankton in the water, which leads to another issue. Due to them eating so much plankton, the fish are having to compete for food causing them to slowly die off. This is a huge problem. We need to prevent and stop the spread of the demons.
Let’s go back to Zequanox.  Zequanox is an EPA approved natural alternative, that’s environmentally friendly. It doesn’t hurt employees, Damage equipment, or the people around it. It’s just as effective as chemical solutions. As amazing as is sounds, there are a few downsides.
 Zequanox is very time consuming and costly. It would take about $300,000 to cure one lake, judging on the density of the zebra mussels.
With this in mind, we don’t want anymore of the wretched creatures in more lakes. Prevent the spread. Remove any vegetation that is on your boat from the water. Don’t reuse bait if it has been exposed to infested waters. Dry your boat and equipment for at least 48 hours before using in clean, safe waters.
The aliens need to go. They are not supposed to be here! They are taking over our beautiful lakes, and tearing our lakes apart, ruining them! Get the disgusting, nasty pests back to where they came from.

The Fear, Fears Bravery.

 You’re over-coming acrophobia! That’s bravery, but you will always be scared or have something that you just don’t want to do. Bravery is a huge part of life. Without courage, we wouldn’t have the hero’s we have, or the people we have fighting to make the world a better place.
   Bravery plays a big role in jobs like a policeman, to an activist like Malala. As a police, you have a big chance of getting shot, firemen can get burned or a building can fall on them. In fact, 68 firemen died last year, including 144 policemen. Even Malala is risking her life for what she believes in. But with bravery also comes fear.
   There are many fears you can have, flying, abandonment, even darkness. But if we didn’t have the courage to overcome these fears you would just be bottled up in your room never leaving scared, out of your mind of the world. Be brave, don’t let your fear stop you, and forever keep pushing to your dreams and what you believe in.
“We were scared, but our fear was not as strong as our courage.”

The Privilege

Education is important to Malala because she knows that she is very privilege to go to school. Where Malala lives it is very looked down upon to go to school. In fact, 65 million girls do not go to school. Malala is very thankful for her right to go to school,”I lived in Pakistan, where a girl was free to go to school.”Many children are illiterate and don’t know how to read or write. Nearly 122 million Image result for privilegechildren are illiterate. She simply wants children to be happy, she quotes “There is no greater violence than to deny the dreams of our children.”

School is very important to Malala, school is her home, school is her right.

Downfalls of Technology

Technology has done oodles for our world today, but there are many complications to using it. Bullying is one of the main problems with technology and with physical interaction. Technology, the bully hurts you with words and behind a screen, hurting you mentally. In person, the bully, bullies you through physical contact by hitting or saying the vile words to you to your face. When I was little, I used to get bullied, kids would call me nasty names if I didn’t do something and just to make me feel bad. It is much harder to express your feelings through technology. As to if you are in person, you can clarify exactly how you feel to the person you’re communicating with, technology, you can’t show what you mean, the person could take it the wrong way. Personally, I think technology has done a lot for our word and our planet, it has save lives and help people in life threatening situations but, people can get to focus on it and it can hurt somebodies health and education.
What do you think, do you like technology, or in the flesh?

The Gift of Christmas

The Gift of Christmas

Christmas is a joyus

Time of year when friends and family

Gather around

And enjoy the gift of Christmas

In your case,

It might be

love,

Togetherness,

But for me,

FOOD is my gift!

My great-grandma Tootie’s sausage rolls complement

My left-handles wonderfully.

My mother’s rum cake is great for my “baby fat.”

My  grandpa’s beans had everyone clearing the room.

The pizza was great too. {Thanks Moe’s}

Essay

Out of my mind made me view and understand things differently.
I learned that you can’t take life for granted. I sometimes forget how lucky I am to be able to talk and walk, and some people long for it every day, like Melody. ”I can’t talk. I can’t walk. I can’t feed myself or take myself to the bathroom.”I also view differently about my sisters. I used to think they were just annoying little room mates, but now I know that they can have a big impact on your life. Like how Penny is bringing joy to Melody. “I wish I could tell her I love her.” On that note, friends can be a big part of your life too. Melody didn’t really have anyone to talk to, until Rose came and talked and befriended Melody. “At school Rose whispered to me about the trip just like I’ve seen other kids do when they have secrets. I felt like a real girl.”
Above all, Out of my mind has help me see things in a newer, brighter way! :}
